Salvation is about what God did and does for us, not what we do. It is not responsibility (the law) but a response. A true Christian, not a hypocrite, bears the fruits on the Holy Spirit in his/her Godly walk in this dark world. Her/his focus is only on heaven not on worldly things. But how will you focus on heaven, walk a Christ-like walk if you do not know the Bible? Ignorance is no defense.

How to build a Godly character

Build Godly character by remaining faithful to what is right in spite of pulls to the contrary. Be of great faith and a spiritual man who is pleasing to God. We must resist temptations to do things we know we should not. We live by faith that God will give us the strength to endure whatever trials we face in this life. But when we compromise we tear down that character. Every time we give in, we find it that much harder to resist giving in the next time we face temptation. Sin becomes our master always placing us in slavery.

We need to be sure that what we do is out of faith and confidence that it is right and acceptable to God or not do it at all. We need to be sure our motives are right and our conscience remains clear in everything we do. For this reason it is vital that we properly educate our conscience so that it is in accordance with God’s Word, the Bible. It is not within our natural ability to discern right and wrong. Jer 10:23: O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walks to direct his steps.

But how are you going to educate your conscience to be in accordance to God’s word when you study the Bible only on Sunday’s (occasionally)? We must study the Bible in depth not only reading some few bible verses and then we say we know the bible but understand it entirely. There is a big difference between reading and studying the Bible and every Christian must study it.

As Christians, we must always humbly remind ourselves that we have sinned and we are sinners (every man is a sinner). We must also humbly remind us of our past sins, just as Paul occasionally reminded brethren of their past sins. 1 Cor 6:9-11: Know you not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Remembering our past failures and God’s grace to forgive us helps us remain humble. Because of a humble and contrite heart toward God, we gladly submit ourselves to Him in thanking, praise, repentance and worship. And because we humbly submit to God, we avoid the pervasive hypocrisy that destroys so many human relationships, both in and out of the Lord’s church.

Not until we clearly see that sin has battered, bruised and driven us to despair will we even begin to admit our need for repentance and forgiveness. Not until we grasp that sin has arrested, imprisoned, condemned and killed us will we reach out to Christ for justification and life. Sin is not a joke. We need not be morbid about it, but we should certainly check for it often within ourselves to avoid its deceptive, life-destroying bondage.

God does not wick at sin nor wipe us out but He cleanses us by the blood of His son Jesus.

Salvation is by grace through faith. Salvation is;

1)   I was saved from penalty of sin: justification

2)   I am been saved from the power of sin: sanctification

3)   I will be saved from presence of sin: glorification.

Let’s us all fight what is evil, be like Christ and build a Godly character
